Art is a journey, not a destination.  More about process, less about product.

Most times, painting and drawing helps me to find a meditative place where I become one with my ground and instinct kicks in.  Other times, art is the ring where I wrestle with a canvas or paper and use my arsenal of choice to see if I can exceed my own expectations and capabilities.  Either way, the pursuit results in a process which includes the excitement of potential, frustration, learning, and ultimately joy (usually in that order).

In each work of art I seek to expand on what is there and add a sense of emotion often through an intriguing or sometimes even a subdued use of color depending on the mood I seek to establish.   As an art educator, I teach my students to view art as a series of decisions that need to be made when there are a plethora of questions and as a series of questions to be asked when no answer is apparent.
